The BostonPickle.life Story
Our Pickleball journey began in April 2022.
At the time, I was, and still am the Men’s Tennis Coordinator at The Brown Billone Club in Easton, MA, a position I’d held for 12 years. Like many tennis players back then, I hated Pickleball — the noise, the paddles, the chaos. I swore I’d never play that “dumb game.”
That changed when a tennis friend convinced me to enter a local Pickleball tournament. On my way, I stopped at Dick’s and grabbed a crappy Head paddle and jumped in with no clue what I was doing.
Turns out, I won the whole thing — and had an absolute blast doing it. The next morning, I woke up excited (and honestly, seeing dollar signs).
From Skeptic to Believer (Summer–Fall 2022)
The next day I called the owner of my club and pitched starting a Pickleball program.
“Pickleball is a joke, guy" was his response lol.
He wasn’t interested but I kept playing several times a week, and my excitement kept growing.
Finally, in November 2022, after LeBron James and Tom Brady invested in Major League Pickleball, I got the green light to launch a Pickleball program at Brown Billone.
The Breakthrough (November 2022)
On day one, we ran two drop-in sessions.
106 people showed up.
The owner stood there in disbelief:
“Who are all these people?”
That moment confirmed everything — the Pickleball wave was real. We stayed packed all winter long, and momentum was building fast.
Our First Tournament (February 2023)
In February, I ran our first official Pickleball tournament — The Brown Billone Classic.
We had 209 registrations, and it was an incredible success.
The local paper covered the event, and it was immediatly picked up by Yahoo Sports and USA Today.
I soon became a Certified PPR Professional and Certified DUPR Coach and began teaching hundreds of players across all levels.
Growing the Game (2023)
Throughout 2023, we expanded programming — lessons, clinics, open plays, leagues, and tournaments.
That same year, we launched the BBC Pickleball Pro Shop becoming an authorized dealer for leading brands like Joola, Selkirk, Franklin, CRBN, Six Zero, and more.
With both an in-club shop and an online store, we are able to bring players the best gear at the best prices!
A New Chapter (2025)
By 2025, Pickleball was exploding across New England. With so many new clubs opening and competition increasing, I knew it was time to evolve.
Bostonpickle.life was born.
Our goal was clear....... run the most organized, fun, and professional Pickleball tournaments in New England — and to keep elevating the player experience.

We still call the Brown Billone Club our home base, offering private and semi-private lessons, clinics, leagues, and DUPR rating sessions.
